Israel was a lousy servant, but Jesus was the perfect servant. So I'm a lousy servant, but If I die to the cross and let Jesus be my master, do I become a perfect servant?
Two years ago, God called me in the middle of the night and said to me "Be my humble servant"I've searched for two years on what this means, and what and where God is calling me to be His "humble servant"
Does this mean to become a full-time missionary? to dedicate myself to YWAM? Go to China or North Korea?
The Book Isaiah gives many parallels about servant-hood, and compares Israel with Jesus.
Israel sucked at being a servant. They complained over and over, they were disobedient, they failed at many tests of God, where Jesus was the perfect servant and succeeded at every test similar to what Israel received.
I realized that I can never become a humble servant of God on my own because I suck at it. Really! And that being a servant of God has nothing to do with being a missionary, serving at YWAM or going to China or North Korea, or even working in the marketplace.
Being a servant is allowing the perfect servant Jesus to take over my life. To put God first, Seeking the Kingdom of God first and keeping His commands.
I've been praying over my next steps and below is the scripture I received that nailed it for me to stay in California in my next season.
Yes God has called me back, and calls me "my servant"! Now I finally get it! Letting Jesus be my king, putting Him first in everything, that's how I become a servant. Mission Accomplished!
Isaiah 41 : 8~10
But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend, I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying "you are my servant"
For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
