Following His lead

We're going back to Kona and China!

After just two weeks back from our amazing mission trip in China, God has called us back to the University of Nations for another 6 months of knowing God more and making God known. This time with the FCM (Foundations in Counselling Ministry), So it's another 6 months of living out of our suitcases, and going out to the Nations (most likely China again). We leave on Sept 30th. Please pray that we receive more grace and favor from God, pray for our health and safety, our finances, and our next steps after FCM.

We finally come to an end our our 5 month DTS. Graduation Day!

The 5 month DTS and mission trip has been amazing.
There was supernatural inner healing for our family. Restoration.
and the lecture phase in Kona is by far the happiest time in my entire life.

We still await confirmation on our next steps in life.
We'll either come back to sunny California, or go back to Kona, Hawaii.
It looks like both opportunities are opening up for us.

I'll be in Seoul until Sept 2nd. to see family and friends, and share the amazing time we had on our
outreach mission.

BTW, pls pray for a place for us to stay when we go back to California on Sept 2nd.
We need a one month place to stay in Menlo Park, CA before we decide on our next steps.
We have less than a week before we go back and we don't have a place to stay yet!

A split second late and Jiseong would have gone to heaven.

Photo

We had a horrible accident happen yesterday.
We were walking down the street in China, and Jiseong suddenly fell over to my side,
when a taxi was zooming by. The taxi screeched to stop and Jiseong's foot got caught under the tire.
Since Jiseong fell in front of the taxi, if the taxi was just a split second late, the taxi would have run over Jiseong, and Jiseong would have gone to heaven.

God can take away and give life in a split second. It's by His grace we are alive and well.
God with us was protecting us, and we thank God for His miracle.

We took Jiseong to the hospital to get x-rays on the foot.
Fortunately Jiseong was also wearing Crocs so nothing wrong with the bones,
just internal vein damage so Jiseong's foot will be alright after some medication.

Here's Jiseong at the Chinese hospital getting his x-ray taken.

The prophesies of Jiyeon

On our outreach, Jiyeon has prayed together with us, and
amazingly, she was the best God listener, and was able to see and hear to clearly what God wanted us to do.

Jiyeon has always been the final stamper and confirmation when we learned that we are really hearing God's voice,
and obeying.

Below are pictures are actual drawings that Jiyeon had prophesied or heard from God.
Most of them actually came true, and some are actual photo's of what became real.

We created a new recipe called "joomok-bab cones"

We only have less then two weeks before our mission trip in China is over.
We ask for prayers about our next steps. To go joyfully, and in obedience where God's will is.
We can come back to California, or go to Kona, and we are asking for God's guidance. Pls pray for us.
and that our provisions are met. (places to stay, financial needs)

It is illegal to preach the gospel to children under the age of 18. Thus the orphanages in China cannot pray, teach the bible, or talk about religion. The only way they can make God known is to love the children unconditionally. and with God's love and grace, healing and restoration come to the children. In the pictures below, the boy arm wrestling is 13 years old, and has no identity. All he knows is that his mother is North Korean, and his father is Chinese. At the tender age of 10, he has been knifed and knifed another boy. He was a case that was humanly impossible to heal, but with God's love and only God's love, he is healing. and knows how to strut his muscles too!

We've been visiting more churches, and we are seeing amazing ways God is working in China. The "Back to Jerusalem" movement is really happening, and at the forefront, Harbin is playing a central, city role. The Gospel is no longer pertained to the outer villages and suburbs, but reaching the business and government world, and the professional in the market place will lead the movement.

Our kids are healthy, although skinnier than when they left the US. It's a miracle our kids have not been sick once, when everyone we are traveling with got sick at least once.
God's grace and protection is upon us, and i thank you for your prayers.

We are in Dalian now, and we are enjoying some of the luxuries of capitalism. Mainly McDonalds! Our first visit there after almost two months here in China.
The beaches here aren't comparable to the exotic and beautiful beaches on Kona Island, but after two months traveling all over north east China, any beach was a welcoming treat to our kids.

We've also been able to cook some Korean food, and kimchi, which is a treat. We even created a new dish called "joomok-bab cones" (주먹밥콘) looks like an ice cream cone, and you can eat it like an ice cream cone, but it's rice, kimchi and seasoning all packed into two cups. great recipe for those on the move.

Chinese Taxi Drivers are psychic. You only need to think "taxi" and a it will find you within 10 seconds, no matter where you are.

We in the north eastern part of China, and here are some interesting observations
- Refrigerators are scarce in Chinese Supermarkets - Almost all milk and yogurt diary products don't have to be refrigerated. (think of all the preservatives!)
- Chinese Taxi Drivers are psychic. You only need to think "taxi" and a taxi will find you within 10 seconds no matter where you are.
- Traffic lights are more of a recommendation in China.
- Cars first, people second.
- Chinese people are early birds! The city starts bustling at 4:30am and all the stores pretty much closes at 8pm.

We've been visiting many underground churches, and the love for God and the passion for Christ we see just humbles us. We've been helping out at a bread factory sending bread to children in North Korea, shoveling horse manure at Burning Heart Ranch where horses are being used to treat handicap children (Hippo-therapy), and sharing God's love with all we meet.

Check out the pics. We are also enjoying the delicious food! We've had the most amazing Cold Bean Noodles(냉콩국수) and sweet and sour pork (탕수육) we've ever tasted!

Baekdoo Mountain and sleep train rides in China

I'm sitting on my bed, at 10:18 pm on a train thats heading for Yanggil. It's a 20 hour ride so we
have bed seats. The bed is in a three story bed box  with 6 beds per  box. It was pretty hot and sticky an hour ago,
but now that the night wind is blowing through the window cracks, it's getting cool enough to sleep.
the lights went out at 10:10 and so there's not much more to do than ponder on what's been hapenning since we
got to China.

The kids are sleeping above me, for them there's no complaining, but excitement of
a new area to explore, the triple bunk beds are just so fun for them. Check out the pics of our train ride.

We got to Baekdoo Mountian, and i have to say, it's probably the most breathtaking scenery i've ever seen in my life.
Pictures below.

Amazing things are happening here in China, listening to God's guidance, obeying and experiencing miracles. Encouraging lost souls
and healing for the sick. God is great isn't He? More stories to come!

We're safe and sound in China!

We arrived safe and sound in China! we're all well and healthy.
Facebook Youtube and blog sites are inaccessible, so don't know if this post will make it to my blog.

I'm posting some pictures after our arrival. We've had some great sights to see, especially near the NK border.

We'll be keeping a low profile from now on. Ask our Father to protect our safety and health, many wonderful things happen, and for our future post-DTS.

Ah the food in homeland is so so good! The doctor visits are so so cheap!

Photo

We arrived in Korea for a few days rest before we go to China. First day here we ate so much good food. We went to the food court at Shinsegae Department store, and the variety and visuals of the food was just amazing... coming from Kona Island that is. We took the kids to the eye doctor, dermatologist, and dentist all in one day.  Today we're all heading to get a hair cut, public bath house and have a body scrub (때밀이) and gather with relatives to share all the wonderful experiences we had in Kona.

As we go to China, postings will be limited but I'll try to share as much as security allows.

Wouldn't it be great to know the original design of your children? then you can steward the potential of your children in the right direction!

Here's the Original Design God had in mind when He created Jiyeon and Jiseong.

We're so thankful that we now know what to steward in our children. That we are pointing the arrows of our children's potential in the right direction.

Jiyeon
1. She is my pearl - She has a rare exquisite beauty.
2. She is a joy giver.
3. She is like Esther - able to see bigger picture and to obey in the small things.
4. She is a treasure, gatherer - recognize fine things in God's kingdom. and appreciated the treasures in God's Kingdom. and stewards them well. and will grow in wisdom - she knows the value of God's gift. Gather's God's treasures. and values them and knows how to use them.
5. She is a friend and companion to many. Befriender of many- no barrier with her. no fear in relationships. She doesn't let things get in the way. There is no judgement, unconditional love.

Jiseong
1. Truth Teller
2. Shepard, a man after God's own heart.
3. He's fearless. like David and Goliath. Doesn't see why he should be afraid, and so he's not. He trusts in God's promises.
4. He has sound and good judgement. like an old-fashion balancing scale. He can analyse two sides, the process of discernment. to come up with the best answer to a problem. and make good judgement
5. Has Humor
